This single is the sound of love.

Somewhere during the time I spent in therapy and couple's counseling in 2021-2023, I made the decision that I would start doing my best to meet my own needs so that I could truly love unconditionally. In some ways, this was initially too big a pendulum swing towards hyper-independence, born out of losing trust after being hurt, but it also has been an important part of moving towards healthy love.

After a lot of work finding the balance of meeting my own needs and working to open myself back up and trust again, I feel like I'm in a place where I finally know what real, healthy love feels like.

It feels like my lovely partner, Andii, and I having our own goals and dreams and friends and responsibilities and lives while also making time to prioritize each other, help each other grow, and support each other's dreams and ambitions, and holding space for one another when old wounds are inevitably triggered by a flash of the past.

Although it nearly killed me, I'm so grateful now for all of the challenges of my previous relationship and how it brought me to learning to truly love myself and stop settling for behaviors (including from myself), people, and things in my life that aren't aligned with who I really am and want to be.

"God in Everything" came about thanks to now having a partner that's so aligned with me on such a high level that it brings me closer to God, magic, wonder, love, and all the goodness of the world. It's been life-changing thing learning to truly love myself and now finding someone who loves themselves and me in that same deep, intentional way.

I wish this kind of love on everyone, and, if you feel far from it, I encourage you to start by finding small ways you can love yourself better today. With time, those small changes can create miracles.
